If you are trying to get a seat in M.Tech Instrumentation then you have to satisfy the following conditions :
1.You should be a graduate of B.Tech from Instrumentation or Electrical,EIE.
2.Then you can get in to the IITs only if you get a great score in the GATE examination based on the category.
3.So the category will decide the seat availability and also the step in IIT.
4.If you are not having the 60% aggregate then it is tough to get in to the IITs.So you can select other NITs to pursue your instrumentation course.

Re: Eligibility for M.Tech Instrumentation and Control in IIT?

    Dear Sir,
For admission in IITs you must need 60% marks in Btech. There is a 5% relaxation for reservation category. Otherwise its difficult to get an admission in IIts or related standard colleges. According to our sources for the eligibility of MTech in Instrumentation and control, you have to attend the GATE exam. If we take the GATE score accepted by NIT for this above mentioned course, the mark will be between 620-645. Candidates applying for this course must have a Bachelors’ degree in Engineering or Masters’ in Science.

    thankzzzz......

Re: Eligibility for M.Tech Instrumentation and Control in IIT?

these colleges you must try to get in

    IISc Bangalore:
There is not interview for this course. And usually they select only those among top ten

    IIT Bombay:Criteria changes

IIT Delhi:Very good subject as far as instrumentation is concerned. Most of the subjects are instrumentation related. Placements are also good. Also the cut off is very low

    IIT Kanpur: Varies

IIT Kharagpur:Hard core instrumentation along with signal processing and electronics. Now preferred to Control Systems due to better placements.

IIT Madras:Based on Admission Form/Gate score

IIT Roorkee:Based on Admission Form/Gate score
    Hope this helps you
    Thanks
    Roshan
